I'm so stupid. Pheasant chicks died because of MY mistake.

i use a quail waterer to start off all of my chicks. even chickens. it's small enough that they can't get anything in but a beak. mine are coming up on two weeks now, and i still use it but i'll be upsizing next week.

I feel for you. We have been using the quail waterers for our little pheasants, quail and chickens too. But we have still had to put small rocks all the way around these too. One day I had two very small quail drown themselves, then I had three pheasant chicks upside down in the waterer. They didn't drown but they were sure wet. Just goes to show that even with all the precautions that we can take, some one forgot to tell the babies, not to play in the deep end
