I'm sooooooooooooooooooooooooo bored!!

Oh, one my younger calls is laying eggs

- she is confused, methinks. Out of season, baby - but she's young, so maybe she's just adjusting her internal clock.

Once I get rid of extra drakes in the spring, I'll have 11 ducks (so I have plenty of room to add more next year when I start hatching again.

Speaking of quail mmmmm.... I figured to start butchering a week before Chickenstock, so I can have them all set to bring out. I also have to do some for Jamie, but no idea how many he'll be wanting - I'll find out next week while he helps me do the deck.

and speaking of Chickenstock, I might be picking up a couple birds for Cindy, so I can get your fluffy thing then, too and bring it along.

too bad Sydney can't come along.

I want some baby ducks. Nobody gives me any baby ducks!

You have to drop em off while DH is working, k?

Whenever people ask me why I have ducks I give them answers like 'they're fluffy, duh" or something like that.

but why do people raise quail?????

Fluffy thing...what are you talking about? There should be at least 3 fluffies, but I'm thinking it was 4

And NO!! You can't fall in love and keep them for yourself!

If I didn't have them, all my birds would be fending for themselves. The sale of their eggs completely covers my feed bill (and then some). But a lot of people have them to eat.

Come on over!! I have 4 babies in a pen in the front yard you can have

One for sure is a girl, but I don't know about the others. And one is missing an eye, thanks to some chicks they were in with after they hatched. Other than that they are in good shape! You can come visit and tell him 'I found them on the side of the road, and look what something did to its eye!!

We can't just leave them there!!'

I been raising them to eat - I have a cage of about a dozen breeders, and then I have a coop with about 60 growers and another 50 or so in the house that go out soon.

everyone who stops by who finds out I have quail ask me if I sell them to folks to eat

I may have to add in another cage of breeders I think.

I haven't ever sold eggs.

I only know about the one fluffy roo - but if you're getting more, just let me know so I can take enough cages along.

Yeah, there's the fluffy roo, and 2 or 3 (thinking 3) fluffy youngsters that she has too. Hopefully they aren't all roos
