I've bought a lot of different eggs off ebay from a lot of different people and my hatches have been all over the chart. I've had hatch rates from 0% on some pheasant eggs all the way up to 95% on some quail and chicken eggs. I'm just starting to wonder if it has more to do with the sellers sending olds eggs than it does to do with the shipping. I had 3 different shipments ship the same day and arrive to my house on the same day. They were three different breeds of chickens from three different people. I had some buff oprington eggs that I had a 95% hatch on, some cream brabanters with a 60% hatch and some salmon faverolle bantams with 80% hatch. I also have a batch of what started out as 148 cortunix eggs in the incubator right now and I've already had to throw out about 20 stinky eggs. I say all of this just say I'm starting to think it has a lot to do with how old the eggs were when they left their originating location. Maybe some people who claim to be selling only fresh eggs are not telling the whole truth???
