MY FIRST EGG!

Woke up Thanksgiving morning to hear bok bok buk GAWK. I dashed outside, held my breath, and opened the nesting box. TADA: a perfect little first egg from my BSL, Gwen, nestled in next to the golf ball. Nicely done, Gwen.

First squat to first egg in about 5 days.

I had been telling people that we hoped to get eggs by Thanksgiving when we got the chicks in May.

Now I can start saving up eggs for Christmas breakfast!!
