I'm thinking of different breeds, Aseels v.s. Faverolles

I always receive an unwanted rooster, my luck

, are Aseel/Faverolle cocks decent?
I want a vary "varying" flock... what do you recommend?

Never had an Aseel.

I love my little 14 week old Faverolle pullet. I can't wait until she starts to lay.

I always like the faverolle's coloring. She looks incredibly sweet. Is her toe crooked? I have had a hen with a crooked beak, she was an Ameraucana hen. The prettiest we had out of the bunch though, we kept her, but while she was scared of us, boy, she could peck hard when she wanted too..
Any more opinions? Thanks for yours, Mahonri!

Yup she has a crooked toe, but gets around just fine. I tried to splint it but it didn't take.

Also a black Ameraucana roo in the same batch has a leg with three crooked toes. We will be culling him eventually even though he has the green and purple sheen that is so pretty.

Get Faverolles!

Not only are they adorable, but they are also friendly and they love to be picked up. Mine croak like bull frogs, sort of, and they chat non-stop sometimes. They are by far the friendliest breed I have ever had. Plus they don't ever fly over the fence, they're great backyard birds. (Except for all the noise they make chatting, not so great for the neighbors.

I have had a Rhode Island Red Cock with a crooked toe, he wobbled around a bit, he was beautiful. He was an unwanted on along with another one. He was the sweetest rooster I have ever obtained..sadly (He was culled along with the other one)

I love the coloring in the male faverolles, but are they sweet tempered is my main thought...?
