Hi All,

I thought my baby chick had a tumour but I caught her today much to the distress of her and Mama hen - I think it might be an impacted crop?

It feels grainy and hard, and it's huge - what can I do to help?

Is it still like that? The crop looks like that just when they are full too and as they digest, it goes down. Open her mouth and see if you smell anything weird. If so, it's sour crop but that's not common in a chick that young. Make sure she is getting plenty of water and chick feed for the grit. I would also add apple cider vinegar to the water if you haven't already. If the crop doesn't go down and the chick shows signs of problems, you will need to manually help empty it. (aka help her puke)

Thank you so much for your advice - I really couldn't believe it but it went down. When I had my first chicks they never filled up like this, not even close - I was convinced it was bad news. Just a little piggy. PHEW!!!!!
