Hi guys,
I have been treating my hen for impacted crop the past 5 days and my vet gave me enough medicine for 1 week. Her crop was big and squishy. Now it's a little smaller the past 24 hours. But she also hasn't eaten yesterday so maybe that's why?

Vet said there should be some progress by now and if not then there is a blockage further down (and expensive to look into).

The thing is, my hen is pooping so that would mean there isn't a blockage further down right?

Her crop is definitely smaller today but she also hasn't eaten anything. It feels like silly putty inside her crop.

Anyone have any knowledge about this kind of issue?

I'm hoping she gets her appetite back and her crop is eventually totally empty and normal feeling.

What did the vet give her?

Not sure what course you want to take - back to the vet or diy.
For me if it felt like Silly Putty, then I would treat as impacted and Sour. Coconut oil, stool softener (1 time) and yeast/anti-fungal meds twice a day. Make sure she's drinking well. A little wet feed daily is ok along with a bit of scrambled egg as a treat.

Do keep in mind that most crop issues are a symptom of an underlying condition. Reproductive disorders, worms, coccidia and infection are a few of the more common.

This article should help walk you through the steps of treatment - read the comments posted there as well - lots of good info.
