Impacted crop?

I didn't realize that the feeder was empty for a while and one of my chickens gorged herself on food when I refilled it maybe 3 hours ago. She looks almost like she's gagging while her crop moves up and down. Her crop itself is enlarged and hard, but she's acting fine besides that. I've given her access to water only for now. Should I wait until morning to take any further action, or is there anything I can do now to help? I don't think I have the money to take her to a vet.

You won’t know anything till the morning. Chickens with full crops will not completely digest their food in less than three hours. Wait till tomorrow and then if she still has a full crop we can help guide you through the steps of how to help her. Hopefully we don’t have to though!
