Hi, We're new to raising chickens and what fun it had been so far. They are about 16 weeks old, and I'm so ready for some eggs. I stared at them for hours when they were chicks, watching combs and feathers, hackles and saddles. Oh My! Waiting for signs of roosters and hens. Now I sit by the run and look for redness in combs, squating and such. I think I'll just explode when the first one is layed!

Doing the same thing here, waiting and watching. Checking the nest boxes each morning now. Put golf balls in last night to help with this process??? Now we wait!

Your chickens are beautiful!

Thank You! The gray one is Lily. She is the head henny, not the sweetest of the bunch but for sure the prettiest! We put up the nest boxes last week and put some wooden eggs in hoping they would get the idea! Nothing yet. I'll just keep watching:pop
