I think Frittata is getting close to laying, she is squatting and talking up a storm. She yells at me when I try to clean the coup haha. I feel like it will be a few days, but I don't want to over eggcite myself if she is still a couple weeks away. So let me know what you think, when will I get my first egg?

Oh this is probably the second most common guessing game aside from "are you a boy or a girl?"

She'll lay when she's ready, but she's giving you great signs that it is SOON. It took about 10 days for my current 3 layers to start from the time of first squat to first egg. Fingers crossed you'll find your first egg shortly!

She looks super close! I have a few girls who have grown in their combs and wattles and have started squatting...about three weeks ago It's a long wait and an almost impossible guess...but they'll start eventually

Yes she is a leghorn. I love reading and learning through everyone hen or roo and am I going to lay game.. its exciting!! Lol

she’s so pretty! getting a leghorn or two is definitely a goal for me one day, i absolutely love the way that they look. i only have one lil lady who’s laying rn and she squat for around a week before she laid her first egg, i was so incredibly proud of her

Today was the day!!! She squatted and yelled for about 3-4 days before she laid her perfect egg. I am such a proud mom!
