Impatiently waiting for an egg........

Can't a pullet lay an egg before she has her comb? Mine's combs are just beginning to emerge.

Patience is the key. It took a few of my Australorps nearly 7 months to lay an egg, even after they had red faces, combs and wattles. I know how hard it is to wait, but it will be well worth it once you see that beautiful prize in the nest box!

I am not sure exactly how old they are. The lady I got them from said they are about 6 months old but after looking at pictures of pullets that age, I think they may be younger. I'm going to try and get some good pictures of them, will post in a few minutes.
