I'm about to order my first chicks, but the place I'm thinking about buying from does not offer vaccinations. Is this a big deal? My flock is only going to consist of 3 birds (the only other pets I have are a couple of cats).

The answer to your questions lie within yourself:
How attached to these babies are you going to become.
How will you react if 1, 2, or 3 catch a preventable disease?
Mereks, for instance, is an easily preventable disease with a simple, cheep vaccination but is hardly cured, if ever without it.
You can do these vaccinations yourself...did you know that? You can purchase them on-line. Mereks is what you need to start with.
Good Luck,

Thank you..........what are the most important? Mereks, Newcastle are the two that come to mind. Isn't there another that starts with a C?

Mereks, NewCastle & Infectious Bronchitis, Fowl Pox.
I belive you are thinking about coccidiousis ( spelling?). You avoid that with medicated chick feed, clean conditions, and some people put a preventative int he water too ( I do not).
