Important question about refrigerating fertile eggs!!

Okay, thanks. I think I will just set my cut off date for selling them to customers at 3 weeks. They sure were some ugly eggs, but the hens didn't complain about them once they were scrambled.

Glad we finally understood what you were asking.

At least the hens got a good treat.

I've hatched some eggs that sat in my fridge for two weeks. Not all of them hatched, but some did. I just introduced them in with the big flock the other day, and they are doing very well.

So, it is possible to hatch refridgerated eggs. The odds go way down, but it isn't impossible.

I have cracked eggs just after they were layed - while still warm fresh from my chicken and I have had the blasterderm raised like that. They say an egg takes 24 hours to develop in the chicken and be fertilized. Maybe your chicken produces them that way. Try and see if a fresh egg is similar. Only one of my chickens eggs are like that of the 4 that lay eggs.
