Kandoos,
The idea of a 'sex-lnk' is that one can tell the males from the females at hatch.
Black Stars, I believe, are from special strains developed & bred by a particular company.

Black sex links are made using non barred males (often RIR) over barred females (often barred Plymouth Rocks). All of the male offspring hatch with a white spot on their head. The female offspring hatch all black & do not have a headspot.

Oh forgot to say..... The males feather up with barring the females have no barring.

If someone can tell me how to get pics on this thing, I can get you some of mine, they are about two mos old and a cross of a Buff Orp roo and a Barred Rock hen.

RAREROO....Look under FAQ.

Thanks Krys109uk

Here are my Black Sexlinks that I bred using a Buff Orp roo with Barred Rock hens. If yours are from a RIR roo instead of a Buff Orp, the pullets wouldn't have as much buff and the roos would be a little darker.
