Importing Hatching Eggs

I have been talking with the NIEC about getting Hatching Eggs Imported in. I have the paper work filled out and ready to go, but I am trying to find some one that has already Imported Hatching Eggs, so I can find out the hatch rate so I would know how many to get. Thanks

you have to get permits through the USDA and the eggs must go through a quarantine period.

as far as shipped eggs, as a rule of thumb take off 25% for every 350 miles.

i am looking at importing a nearly extinct breed myself. i would never attempt hatching eggs from overseas there are just to many regulations and things that can go wrong. from Canada i might give it a try. your best bet is to get juvenile fowl. there is still a quarantine but live birds aren't dated like eggs.

Now you have to go the National Center for Importing and Exporting of Hatching Eggs ( NCIE ). Got every thing ready to go just trying to figure out how many eggs I should order. I looked into both Hatching Eggs and Young Birds. After I looked at it all I have decided to go with Hatching Eggs. That is the best route for me and less quarantine time.. Thanks
