Impulse Bought Silkies From TSC

I went into to tractor supply today and saw some scrawny looking silkie bantams in the bantam bin and of course I had to have them. Here I am with six new silkie chicks. Please humor me with photos of hatchery quality silkies, these are from Hoover. I have a few quality silkies and won’t mix these with those but I can’t promise I won’t cross them with my frizzles.I just want to see the cute and ugly hatchery silkies. I’ll post some pictures later. If I could have, I would have rescued more, two of these look absolutely pitiful, lacking fluff, smaller than normal and long legged. I’ll be giving them some poultry cell to help get them off to a better start. I’m a sucker for anything with feathers lol.

The black one and darker blue are the smallest.

I bought 4 white silkies from TSC this spring, I ended up with 2 pullets and 2 cockerels. Cappy Llama is the pullet with almost no crest, Base is the pullet with the poof, and Nu and Heavy are the two cockerels. Only one has the proper number of toes.

The roosters look pretty big. I only have a few with decent sized crests, one has a mohawk with a beard. I’ll get some update photos today. Some of my cockerels are twice as big as what looks to be pullets. They are still cute and fluffy even the ones with a straight comb.

This is how they’ve developed so far. They are cute and very sweet natured. The weather has been crazy lately with temperatures all over the place, still need to slowly wean them from the light.

Hi! We have some feed store silkies. 3 buff are from Tractor supply 5 years ago(my first silkies, which my kids talked me into getting, but they are my favorite breed now

). Then 2 are from local feed store (I don't know where they get their chicks).
My 2yr olds:
