The comb is what had me thinking it was a cockerel. Never seen a female with that large of a comb. So, uhh. You guys were wrong? The silkie hen laid an egg today. Thanks for the guesses, but definitely not both roosters.View attachment 2539419
The last one is a pic of the rooster, not the hen. Did you get confused? Sorry if the pics were confusing! Those are male silkies. Sorry, but you got duped.
Forgot to address this part, I don't currently have any other drakes or ducks, but I do have three ducklings. Now, I know you shouldn't leave them unsupervised together because they might hurt each other, but they actually get along really well. The ducklings don't run from him, instead, Brownie runs from them. It's cute, but I definitely won't leave them together. We are actually buying him a kiddie pool today! On that note, is a plastic kiddie pool better or an inflatable? He is a beautiful drake. My Khaki drake was my sweetest duck. I just wanted to make sure you are duck aware. I would encourage you to get him another drake friend or several female duck friends. He will also need deep water to dunk his head in. He would love a small pool too.
