Hello everyone.
I've used BYC for a few years for information and only recently decided to "join the club". We currently live in northern AZ and have had laying chickens for several years. Our coop currently houses a mixed flock of layers from Australorps, Orpingtons, Polish cross, a Brahma, and 3 roos- 2 Jersey Giants and 1 Hamburg. We also recently decided to cut back on our mixed flock and raise multiple breeds in their own flocks to keep them pure (its a project). We currently have 50 chicks in brooders who will become the pure flocks and 6 ducklings. If that's not enough, I'm have a fascination with rare and uncommon breeds of any animal. A friend gave our family our first incubator... so naturally its full with 17 Deathlayer and 12 Black Sumatra eggs. Oh yea, we went to a poultry show last week and my kids obtained a Old English Game Bantam pair and a Serama pair to add to our craziness. I think I'm officially a chicken freak!!!

Hello, and welcome! Glad that you joined us here! I'm in Az. also, and have been wondering how the Deathlayer's would do out here in our hot desert summer's. I currently have the Naked Neck/Breese mixes and they do great! I am also starting up with a few of those Bantam Silkies, as they seem to be a pretty popular breed.
