Hello everyone.
I've used BYC for a few years for information and only recently decided to "join the club". We currently live in northern AZ and have had laying chickens for several years. Our coop currently houses a mixed flock of layers from Australorps, Orpingtons, Polish cross, a Brahma, and 3 roos- 2 Jersey Giants and 1 Hamburg. We also recently decided to cut back on our mixed flock and raise multiple breeds in their own flocks to keep them pure (its a project). We currently have 50 chicks in brooders who will become the pure flocks and 6 ducklings. If that's not enough, I'm have a fascination with rare and uncommon breeds of any animal. A friend gave our family our first incubator... so naturally its full with 17 Deathlayer and 12 Black Sumatra eggs. Oh yea, we went to a poultry show last week and my kids obtained a Old English Game Bantam pair and a Serama pair to add to our craziness. I think I'm officially a chicken freak!!!
