Tomorrow marks one week since I lost my best friend in the entire world. Wednesday, Chrissy was looking weak and seemed to be struggling to eat. She couldn't jump up onto my shoulder like she always did. But she tried to eat, just to get some down. Thursday, she couldn't eat at all, and preferred to just seek comfort in my arms.
Friday morning she passed away. She was about 6 months old, and surpassed any expectations we had for her lifespan. Her sister, Tictac, passed soon after we got her around June-ish. Chrissy captured the hearts of many with her sweet face, and her charming and outgoing personality. She showed no fear when meeting new people and loved to ride in the car with me. Her favorite place was of course wherever I was. She loved to sit and watch TV with my partner and I, or watch him play guitar. Given the option, she'd choose to sit on my lap or shoulder instead of hanging out with the other chickens. We had her cremated so she could always be with me, which is what she would have wanted the most.
Rest in peace, best girl
