In need of reassurance

I bought these black copper Marans pullets a few weeks ago. According to the lady I bought them from they are around 20 weeks old today. I need a little gender reassurance since I'm beginning to have some concerns about one of them.

That is neither a Black Copper Marans nor a pullet. That looks like a cockerel from an Olive Egger project.

I agree with the above.

This bird is not a Marans. Marans have straight combs, no beards or muffs, and if they have feathered legs they should be reasonable feathered. Your bird has a pea comb, beard and muffs, and lightly feathered legs. I'm thinking those traits all come from mixing with an Ameraucana or EE, for an Olive Egger.

The pea comb's appearance,the hackle feathers you can see starting, plus the leggy build of the bird all point to cockerel.

If you paid for a pullet, or for a BCM for that matter, I'd be contacting the seller and see what she can do to fix this for you.

Darn it! I really have THE WORST LUCK EVER with roosters.
Thank you all for taking a look and settling it for me. At least I don't have to wonder anymore. The woman I got them from is gone, she moved and had to sell all her chickens. Fortunately I didn't pay much. They were only about 12 weeks old when I got them and I really believe she thought they were both Marans pullets. I always think everyone knows more than I do since I'm so new to this. Live and learn.
