We put the plywood up and it now stays in the mid to upper 90's for the better part of the afternoon. Right now for example, it is 71 outside and the coop is 78.... I am at a loss as to what to do. It doesn't seem to make a difference. I opened the giant clean out door to see if that would help, but it doesn't. They are out enjoying the coop right now as their brooder has been dropped to 78 degrees, so the temp in it will be perfect for a little bit, not to long as I am not sure how hot is to hot for them, so I will go out and check on them periodically. As soon as it reaches 85-ish I will most certainly have to bring them in I am sure. Thank you guys for all of your help, I think at this point our only option is to expand their brooder even more in my office ,but that means possibly putting the heat lamp back on them as it gets pretty chilly in there (concrete floors, we will of course put something under them before I put their bedding on top of the floor). They can stay in there until we get the run fully predator proofed which will hopefully be today.... then go out there on pretty days when their coop gets to hot... They are about 3 weeks old, possible a few days older. They are feathering out pretty good, my brahmas however I feel are slower, but that is okay.... So we will just keep them in the office at night until they are fully feathered and then to the coop until it gets to hot then to the run until they can venture out and about on their own.... if any of this doesn't sound right PLEASE let me know.... I just want to do what is best for them... Anyway that is where we are right now.
