Do they live in there 24/7 or are they cooped at night? Thanks! Yes. I got the materials from Home Depot. It helped that the siding was on sale.
Cooped only at night. I partitioned off the yard with garden fencing so they can have more roaming space. It has wheels also, so I can move it and the fencing every week or so to give them fresh ground.Do they live in there 24/7 or are they cooped at night?
here is a little better picture of the cheap grow off pen. its raining here sorry for the crude picture. the piece of particle board in front of the picture is what happens when you buy an 8x10 tarp LOL
this is another pen I have been working on, its just to separate out injured or sick hens, or new stock coming into the farm. this is just made from sawmill lumber and 2x4 wire, overall cost buying a whole role of wire would be around $45
this is off subject a little, but the following are pics of the breeder setup ive been working on.
the pens are 3 feet by 4 feet. as you can see this is plenty of room for bantams, or a pair/trio of large fowl.
don't let anyone tell you, that you cant make your own trusses, its actually pretty simple. but you should put some Styrofoam between the trusses and metal.
this is a pic from the outside corner, when finished it will have metal flaps that keep the chickens even dryer, and in the shade. notice each pen has its own light, a full 100 amp service was ran to this barn (I still need to cover the wire)
this may help you a little on your way, if you have any questions feel free to ask.
BTW, O-H, lets go bucks
