I have a under year old lavender ameraucana rooster whom i soaked in Epsom salt bath today to get him cleaned up to assess his rear. I wasn't sure if it was vent gleet or what was happening but a couple weeks back I noticed the super dirty rear. At the time or noticing it, i currently had a hen in my chicken ICU and thought he could wait. But during the soak today after cleaning his feathers and getting him out i could see he was very swollen, area warm to touch, very hard like a ball. It's very enlarged, like an inch in depth and probably like 2 inches wide. It seems to have like scabs almost as well. While he was soaking he kept pooping and when he would he would make an almost grunting sound. He makes very runny/mushy poop. Is this just a super bad vent gleet? A tumor? I hurt for him so badly. He must be in pain. I noticed his behavior was definitely different the 2 or 3 days prior. Keeping to himself, not moving too much.
