Guys I'm from N Ireland and I'm finding it really hard to get a Micro Pig :( I've ducks, hens, rabbits and dogs lol and my long suffering partner has at last said I can get one for my 40th (next April!) Now I know that gives me plenty of time but I want to make sure it comes from a good breeder and learn as much as possible about my new baby before it's arrival! It is looking like I'm going to have to spend a lot of money on travel. I have been thinking about shipping (England to Ireland) which I reckon should take about 10hrs and I could collect at the dock etc. Is this an option with pigs? I have never shipped a live animal before? Don't want to stress him/her out! :(

I think your best bet is to look for Juliani Pig breeders in your area. Their ancestry has been traced to England so there is bound to be a breeder in Ireland. They get to be around 18 inches and that is pretty small. You are wise to do your research because many claim to raise micro pigs who then grow to be over 100 Kg. Another idea would be to search for tiny pigs in Asia check out the Vietnamese Micro Pigs for sure. Flights there can be really reasonable and you might be able to combine it with a holiday. If you make your own flight arrangements you will not be disappointed when it arrives.
