Thanks for the link! This is exactly what I am looking for. As I said, I am not looking to spend all day preparing food for my chickens, but as I am learning with my family and other pets, just because it's "commercial" doesn't mean it's the best thing to feed them! I don't think free range chix need tons of specialized foods and supplements. People have been raising them for a looooooong time. But I'm with ya, I certainly don't have time to make chicken treats all the time. I just want to simplify, and find the diet that's exactly what chickens need.
I didn't realize this topic would bring so many opinions! I'm not trying to be romantic here. If food companies had their way, they would be telling me that cereal is the best thing for me to eat, since it includes "all the nutrients my body needs.'' SOrry, but it's not romance that tells me that I am better off eating fruit, veggies, meat and eggs. Every one has a product to sell. I'm definitely learning "BUYER BEWARE".
