so i was just wondering when one of us loses a chicken its bad for us because we lose a chicken we loved and our egg supplier and/or meat, well when you lose a bee if it stings you is it that big of a deal? does it matter as much or is it nothing when you lose some to stings?

There are tens of thousands of bees in a colony. I don't identify with them individually so much as I do with the colony as a whole. I want them all to be healthy and live, but I don't mourn the loss of a bee life with a sting.

Depending on where the sting is it may even be beneficial and welcome. I get relief from joint pain and arthritis when I am stung near troublesome joints. The friend who got us in to bee keeping started with it over twenty years ago for sting therapy in dealing with his MS.
