Dirt is the essence of everything. Everything that ever was has turned to dirt, so take a few tablespoons and it will contain molecules that, in past lives, have been people, chickens, machines, trees, eagles, lions, and sharks. Therefore you are he heart of the planet.

That reminds me of a cute story. When my niece was much younger, she loved to help me in the garden. One day I was turning compost and adding manure to it. The aged compost I was adding to the garden and she was getting really worried about the poop, and when I planted a tree over a year old grave of a pet. I explained to her that dirt... soil, is made up of all these things. That bodies, feces, urine, dead plants, leave. wood, and all things organic break down and become the soil that feeds the plants that in turns feed the animals.

Mind you this kid has seen lion king but it never clicked with her until I said that.

Her reaction was to be horrified. " I'm eating POOP PLANTS?!"

I nearly died.
