Copy the entire image. Then paste it back on as a separate layer. Completely desaturate that one or convert to B&W. Then do a transparency fade across it, so the B&W fades from completely transparent to completely opaque. It's very effective with cad drawings, overlaying a drawing with a rendering, so it goes from line drawing to rendered color image. Somewhere on this computer I have examples, but I don't know which folder. :)

The car is an Autobianchi Biancina, produced from 1957 to 1969. It weighs about 1170 lbs, less than 10 feet long and about 4'4" high and wide. 500 cc engine. Why it's not flat? Its something a friend of mine did.... :)
