That is stunning, where is it? I wish I'd seen it last year, it would have been very helpful; I carved a marble fountain with a similar theme. That elevator lintel would have given me some good ideas and guidance.

I was in Grand Central Station terminal yesterday, NYC. Had a Dr.s appointment.

Here is the one from Track115.

Ah those Vanderbilts....

Built by the Vanderbilts, railroad barons and industrialists who were among America’s richest and most powerful families, track entrances are adorned by acorns and oak leaf clusters, the family’s symbols, at Grand Central Terminal in New York.

The Vanderbilt family motto~~ "Great Oaks from Tiny Acorns Grow."

I've been there several times, last one was about 7 years ago. Don't know how I could have missed those, they're beautiful.
Maybe you just stayed up at Street Level. Next time you are there, head downstairs to the Food Concourse. Both of those pictures were taken down there. All the track entrances have variations of the one I posted. I think a few years ago when they did a lot of renovations they cleaned a lot of the marble. I passed them for years, but now you can't help but notice them.
