I am new to the world of acrylic nails and they feel like talons.
As I now wash horse blankets and shift round 20kg sacks of horse and chicken feed I thought they would be short lived.
Getting in the car my fingers slipped on the plastic trim inside the door and I nearly ripped my whole nail off it's nail bed! It wouldn't have hurt as much if I had actually slammed the door on my finger.
Nails should come with a health warning!
Maybe it is a defect we could breed out?

If you want fake nails get them short. Just barely longer than your finger tips. Otherwise you'll totally injure yourself doing real work. Short gels or acrylics actually protect your fingertips if you have naturally soft nails like I do. I recently started having them done and short is the way to go.
