in this random rambling thread we post random pictures

Totally amazing Kristy Hall ! I does ask a few questions though as to why parents would allow there children to be put into such dangerous situations ?? I would never allow my child to cross some of what was shown , zip lining ?? .....indeed a strange world we live in these days .But thanks for sharing .......unless you see sometimes it's hard to imagine :)
Think about it, if that is the only way for your children to get an education and possibly do better than you, get out of poverty, have a shot in the world, wouldn't you let them take the risk? We have it very fortunate living in industrialized nations with reliable and safe transportation and guaranteed education. Our great grandparents likely went through similar hoops to get an education themselves.

I understand that so well , but something's aren't worth risking your child's life ....actually nothing is worth that in my books . But as you said , we live in a time and place where we aren't exposed to this and so it's a hard pill to swallow ....................

Maybe those scary looking paths/bridges, etc are the usual means of getting from place to place for them. A parent who raised their kids in a quiet little subdivision would spaz at the thought of another parent allowing children to cross busy streets - or take the subway or a bus across town. If this is the same path that Dad takes with goods for market every day - or that Mom takes carying laundry - maybe they don't even see it as a big deal... it's just simply the way to get from here to there.... ? Stiring the pot.......

Not trying to stir the pot the other way but, even if they are taking a well traveled (to them) dangerous path, it is still too dangerous. If they had to walk through a stream with crocodiles, I don't care how often they did it - some are going oops and end up feeding the crocs. IF they survive their school years will there be a job for them that was worth death defying risks?

Even in a civilized(???) country like ours - kids get shot walking to school, school buses overturn, crash through baracades, lunatics shoot up the classroom . THIS is NOT the way to get an EDUCATION. There has to be a better way.

I cut some of these pictures out because they are not family friendly, but some of these are interesting. These are pictures of people being jerks.

My hope is that with google's wifi balloons and these foundations supplying basic lap tops, in a few more decades, anyone that wants an education will be able to get one...free.
I have great hopes for the beneficial side of technology.

... as long as they aren't like me and spend all their free time on a chicken site...

I can claim it as educational.... right?

I think some of the photo's actually look like school outings. The kids on the cart have a grown up with them, the girls crossing the wall look like a teacher is with them and who hasn't been canooing with school?!. Perspective can play a part too. Crouch down and things look high. I am not saying all of them can be written off, the broken bridge one looks well scary, but I don't take everything at face value. Photoshop plays a big part these days. I found this today and it proves my point exactly https://uk.lifestyle.yahoo.com/dutc...holiday-around-south-east-asia-101633785.html
