In this video you get to hear him describe a normal southern winter storm as "the perfect storm." He also talks about sliding off the road the day before. Later he shows video of him sliding off the highway an you see others driving around him.

Really begs the question ........is it worth it ?? . I understand that everything needs to keep moving , but at what cost ? interesting site though ?

For the most part its not. Everything comes to a stop down here when this happens. Most locals are kicked back watching movies all day. Roads are empty. Besides EMS an LEOs, the only locals on the road are in 4X4s playing in it. The highway traffic headed back an forth from Florida to the the norther states keeps trying though. Our ditches are usually filled with people from the north. Not that locals dont end up in them. I have found my wan in to a few over the years. But most of the people I pull out of ditches are from the north. They are out thinking they know how to drive in snow. What they find is unplowed an unsalted roads that are solid ice an they dont know how to drive on that.

Driving in the winter here is like playing one of these...

But they don't realize it's different. Snow at 25 degrees when it's been below freezing out for weeks is one thing- the ground is cold, dry and hard. Snow at 31 degrees when it was warm until the previous day is wet, slushy, slippery. A 1/4" of snow in a warmer climate can be much more treacherous than 3" of snow in a cold region.

Yea , around here it seems everyone or most everyone has to learn how to drive again once we get into the snow and ice , sadly some don't live past there tries ! .............never seen a game like that ? what's it called ??

It used to be very common; I had one, and so did lots of kids I knew. Now it's probably been replaced with an app for your phone.
