It only has to be 20 years old to be considered an antique car and get the cheaper plate.
It is a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
I loved it then and still do, it had a rattle right off the lot, and it drove me crazy, 20 years later there are now so many rattles I can not pick it out of the rest enough to bothered.
I miss my radio and speakers- they are long gone, but it has all changed now anyway.
And we missed the air conditioner, we just had that fixed -supposedly, I don't have it back yet- it was supposed to take two days and they have had it two weeks.. each day they have it the cost seems to go up 200 dollars.

I might not ever get it back now. My husband turns it on and it blows hot and he says,"You want me to pay 150 dollars an hour for diagnostics and you can't figure out in 30 seconds that the mixer is stuck? Fix it."
I will be stuck at home forever.

The awful part is that my husband was going to do it, but decided that it would take him two weeks. It would have cost 2000 less.

and it would have been done correctly.

Feel your pain....I have 2001 Frontier and i don't have AC either....havent' for the last 5yrs?? Everytime they think they found the prob. and I use it once and then it blows hot air again...I just gave up and used my 4/60 air......4 windows down 60mph!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We did that for about six years. That works until it is pouring rain and everything fogs up and you are driving blind. My husband wants it safe. It is like eating healthy, it might feel like it costs a lot now, but when you don't have to spend $60,000 for a hospital visit, that romaine lettuce looks like a deal. A safe car is a deal if any accident can be averted.

....at least that is how I justify it in my head. (don't ruin it for me.

It was 102 last Saturday, even with the windows down, that is heat stroke in a car.
The van will never get it's air fixed. It cost too much to drive even without AC.

No one should ever have to go without a/c in FL...I know that from personal experience, ugh. When I first moved to FL I had a little black Chevy pick-up, within 3 months of moving, the a/c died. It dawned on me then why there are so many white vehicles here. That black cab would turn into an inferno and living in town as I did then, you could only drive stop/go at most 28 mph. Between the heat and humidity the windows were steamy and so was I.
Finally had had enough and traded it in on a KIA Soul...it's a wonderful small car AND the a/c works like a charm. Love my car

I guessed 1986 cause you said it was the last one he could fix. After 1986 is when Jeep went all computer controlled an made it hard on owners to fix their own stuff.

That is right. What most people dont know is when you turn the defrost on the AC come on automatically even in the middle of winter. Defrost still works without it but no where near as good. I can live without AC but I want it to work for defrost at the least.

LMAO! yep I know that scenario as well.....have cussed up a storm while driving in hot humid weather or rainy.....luckily my BF has a little subaru that has AC and it works like a cold winter day!

I've been in PA for 15yrs, I am originally from NC....I used to be able to tolerate the heat & humidity...even now it has to get pretty hot for me to feel uncomfortable...although age as screwed that up

as well...LOL....when I first moved here, folks would complain about how hot it was....80 w/40% humidity and I would LMAO!!! told them it felt like a cool spring day to me, told them to try 101 w/100% humidity and see what they said

I do not know how you large animal people do it. They need their own house (barn), more food -big clean ups...
I am glad some one does it. I like to look at other people's big pets.

But, really, they don't get baths like we would the dogs? Of course, the horse doesn't roll in stink and then climb under your bed does it?
