in this random rambling thread we post random pictures

Tommy, those are pretty cool photos of that fire. I don't have a fancy camera, but I have fun with my little canon. I took photos of the fireworks around our neighborhood. Not so great, but it was fun.

When I raised dogs my male loved people (to throw his ball anyway) but, hated being kissed (oooh human breath) you could try but, he would always turn his head away. Even when he fetched the ball, he didn't care for human fingers taking it from his mouth. Instead he would drop the ball in front of someone and maneuver it over to them with his nose. I think he was human germ phobic. None of the other dogs did that.

When my young nieces came for a visit, he licked them on the face - adults NEVER!!!! I think I should have been very insulted but, a lot of people don't like dogs that lick them etc.

Here ya go diva..guess some cats don't like kisses either. All of my dogs like the attention.

rebel, we know you kiss your dogs. Yep.

The best way to kiss a dog is to kiss him on the head from the side or back. I think dogs and cats don't like the "head on" approach because a predator might go for their head or throat. Who knows. Their breath isn't enchanting either.

The video is alarming in that the dogs are warning them with snarls and lips pulled back but, the owners persist. Isn't that cute? They love to tease Chihuahuas like that also to make them snarl and attack people. People Make Dogs Mean.

Of course cat's are two faced - they roll over and expose their belly inviting you to pet or scratch it and the next thing you know razor sharp claws have left bloody furrows on your arm. It must take a special kind of person to appreciate cats, I KNOW I am not one of them.

Yes Diva it does take a special kind of person ;) I love both dogs & cats....and you are right people make dogs mean...and it breaks my heart when that happens.....I have a stray cat called Momma Cat she is a beautiful calico....had 2 litters and lost both of them, had a third and only 2 lived...Sargeant & Major (until we found out Major was a Majorette lol) Someone caught momma and majorette and had them fixed and released them before we could do it....for which I am very appreciative.....They are the best mousers in the world! Majorette disappeared one day & i can only hope someone caught her and gave her a good home....they love the hens..LOL..they were here when we got the pullets and never once bothered them, if they had we would have rehomed them to a farm.....

Was nice that someone had them spayed rather than harming/destroying them. Some good people out there.
I know....we had only just talked about it a week before they 'disappeared'....I thought they had run off or got hit...but they showed up a week later....little ears nicked to show they were fixed.....yes there are still some good folks out there....
