Oh my goodness, one of my son's and I were just at a store, checked out the shoes while there. We were laughing at the high heels that we saw, but didn't see anything this tall. I have to share this photo with him.

Rebel, have you ever seen bound feet uncovered? Wow, enough to make you be glad for large flat feet. (I'll take my ugly peasant's feet over bound feet any day.)
 
so I am scrolling along and saw rebel's post and thought why would a woman do that to her insides? then moved on to another thread... then my eyes popped open and realized that is a modern day photo of bound feet. WHY?!!
That is child abuse by now, -isn't it?
 
What you do to yourself as an adult cam be foolish and dangerous- but it is you you are harming... how old are the girls when they start binding feet? Someone has to do that to them.
I wish people though more of children than they do of themselves.

Foot binding is illegal, and has been for a long time, but there are a few women still living that had it done when they were children. What was done doesn't completely come undone, even if they stop doing it.
