So I take that there are eggs of many different ages in your incubator at the same time yes? I also assume that you are turning them by hand or is your incubator automatic?I guess where my confusions comes in is this. If the first set of eggs I put in is now in lock down and the last 8 do not go into lockdown for another week how do I keep the automatic incubator from turning the eggs that are in lock down and only turn the rest that are not. LOL now I am really confusing myself here.I have done many a ..staggered..hatch. Date them! Put those that are 20 days old in now! Put the others in when the oldest is 10 days old. Folks are always afraid of opening their bators while eggs are hatching. Not me. Not all folks. I've had many a great staggered hatches..which means, eggs put in at different ages. Go for it.
Man and I was so hoping it was tree fairy eggs.Brazilian Grape Tree (also known as Jabuticaba) does not use branches to grow fruits. It grows fruits (and flowers) directly on the trunk. And is delicious!View attachment 1912988
WHAT NO CHICKENS!!!??? Did you get like super hungry or something? I do appreciate the advice. I got my mother and father now racking her brain over this question BWAHAHAHAHA! I am so evil!I would hand turn if I had a some due at different times. Don't want them hatching in the Turner. I kept turning .. made it quick. You'll find once the first ones start hatching, the chicks do most of the turning of all of those eggs until you take the chicks out. I never leave a chick in a full day though. I used to hatch..sadly my hatching days are over. In fact, no more chickens as of this early summer.
Sounds like you have your hands full. I have a brother with dementia now brought on by parkinsons. He seems to have sliped away so quickly but then a couple of weeks back I brought up a few stories from the early 70's and he could finish the stories himself. Funny how all that works. So much happening here at home. Husband has Alzheimer's. I am also caregiver to my mentally handicapped sister. Guardian. Her kidneys failed this year, been through a lot to get her on dialysis. She lives in a home. Glad they do transportation for her to Drs and hospital..helps a lot. I actually haven't missed my chickens like I thought I would. Probably because I'm pretty busy with other things. I also have a son with Spina Bifida..lives away from home, but, needs help Evey now and again when he has a health problem pop up. Yeah..I usually have more than one dog too...had to go down to our one. He's a fun one. A little Mini Schnauzer.. View attachment 1913718
It really is an interesting illness. My husband was diagnosed almost 2 years ago, but I knew something was up at least a couple of years before..that's pretty early..which goes faster. He was 70 when diagnosed. So really around 68..at least. The last few months, he's declined quite a bit. Hard to have a conversation with him. He's still doing everything for himself. Also things outdoors. Glad he's trying to stay active. I've seen him lost in a couple of different places, but he doesn't wonder off. It's just hard to see the..new..things start to happen. He has fun remembering the past.Sounds like you have your hands full. I have a brother with dementia now brought on by parkinsons.
