in this random rambling thread we post random pictures

I just hatched out my very first chicken in my life in an incubator. This is Nugget. Nugget is now 2 days old. A serama it is. I have no idea how to explain the colors I am seeing on this little one which I am guessing it will change as the feathers come in. I had my zippo lighter close by for size comparison. I didn't have a quarter near me at the time. Even though Nugget looks wet in the photo Nugget was dry. This was taken during the move from the bator to the brooder. I have seen Nugget eat a few times now and also drink water. The brooder is holding at 95 degrees and Nugget seems to be doing well. I hope I have done everything right. The only thing that worries me right now is Nugget sleeps all the time lol. I am guessing that is normal?

Thanks so much Cold Canadian -no matter how many times I've watched that, it always feels new to me. My son lives quite a distance from me, and a lot of times his visits get cut short by other things in his life. Thinking I better stock up on batteries, just in case.
I keep jumper cables nearby LMAO. Especially after watching that video!

Thank you for telling me, I have seen it be doing its thing and all of a sudden plop! I freak out every time. I have just gotten to where I will look to make sure I see breathing movement. I didnt want to wake it up if it was sleeping as it should be. lol This is worse than having a dang kid!
