We rock climb,,, so are aware of many things related to climbing.

This is called Big Wall climbing. Often times to get to the top takes several days. You are not supposed to throw things down to bottom.

So you carry the device like pictured below with you. One for each climber if possible. In climbers talk,, it is to carry "your Wolfbait" :gig

Same rules apply to long rafting trips on the Colorado River. There is a communal wolf bait container on each raft. :old:thumbsup

This allows me to write/ask/think aloud about a concept that I was educated on back in the early 80’s. To be a packrat is to mean “packin it in & packing it out” which meant that *you leave no trace* but, your foot prints. Thus, take all your trash out- leaving none. This does produce (pun enforced) a sizable anomaly to this philosophy. Excrement & urine. How is it dealt with on a multi-day rock face climb? Is this “wolfbait container for trash & excrement? What of urine as well?”

I'm all for "Leave no trace" :highfive: Leave only footprints,,, take only memories"
On a Big wall climb,,, as well as extended rafting trips,, Wolfbait is only for solids. Liquids are allowed to be free in the wind,,, as well as on rafting trips.
There is slight debate if urine is sterile. Read both side views. But generally accepted that not dangerous.
In the real world,,, all bears doodle in the woods,,,, and we as humanity have not ceased to exist .
