So awesome!

There's a yearly show at a small local airport, Georgetown, 1st Sat in Oct, but due to weather it was cancelled this time. Anyway, we are fortunate to have many visiting planes fly around all day, an ongoing air show. Some are WWII planes. They are so awesome to see & even more spectacular to see them in flight. A few planes even offer rides. It was on my bucket list, so I did it! 30 minutes in a Stearman Biplane & 30 minutes in a B25 Panchito.


Prior to the show, when I got home from work, I could see all kinds of cool planes flying in. That Wednesday, Panchito himself flew over my house a few times! That was cool. Darn shame hurricane Ian messed up Saturday's show. I look forward to next time.

We have a CAF chapter here close by (Falcon Field in Mesa), and I get to see their B-25 (Maid in the Shade) and the B-17 (Sentimental Journey) more or less every weekend. That P-51 is part of their squadron too. They did a fly-through a few years ago with Fifi, which at that time was the only remaining airworthy B-29 in the world (Doc's up and flying now too)

So cool!!!
I love when they fly, I hear the rumbling sound in the distance, getting closer, a powerful roar like no other, I say hey grab the camera, something awesome is about to fly over!
It's pretty wild they fly over my house, I'm not exactly near the airport. I consider it a gift!

I grew up with these flying over the house. We were on the crosswind runway for a Marine base and they'd come in on vertical and the exhaust would make the palm trees blow around. One actually crashed a block from our house (2 blocks short of the runway) a few years after I moved away for college

I kinda miss airplane noise.
