Those people were...sleeping in those tents.I and family members Rock climb. Have not had opportunity to do Big Wall, but did many climbs in the 75 foot range. That is 7 stories high.
I enjoy life in the VERTICAL WORLD.
,, Of course ALWAYS use rope and harness,,, So we can climb again next day

Yes,, It is called a portaledge. When climbing a 1500 to 3000 foot route, It takes about 3 days average, depending on difficulty. El-Capitan in Yosemite Ca. is 3000 feet, and average hard climber does it with team in 3 days. There are Super climbers that do it in a single day. No need for portaledge sleeping. DS has one that he used in Superstition mountains near Phoenix AZ. He did not really need it,, but took with him, and set up on top, and spent the night.Those people were...sleeping in those tents.![]()
In pix above,, I bet that sand on the beach was pretty warm to the touch for a while, at that spot.
