Those early settlers in hot areas built to help interiors stay cool though too. The buildings we make now days trap heat rather then keep it out. Thin walls versus thick and no thought into create breeze flow to help heat escape. All this talk of global warming and the need to reduce energy consumption...energy supply problems during peak hours etc etc. But I don't hear any talk about the need to build homes like we used to. It only grows to average 1 meter height.
