Thanks ~ a member of our Beekeepers Assocation painted it for our display at out local Garden Show this weekend. It has gotten a lot of attention there.

I looked at that page and followed a link to the beemaster.com forum, and was really surprised to find out that beehives often get stolen. Reports of 10 or 20 at a time, and of one case of 100 getting stolen. wow.

Sadly thefts of bee hives are becoming more common.. Each hive is worth about $200 in equipment, $80 in bees and if it has honey, the honey could be as much as $4 a pound wholesale & much more retail ~ some hives can have over 100 pounds of honey. It has become quite profitable to steal hives especially from remote, unattended bee yards.
