Yes I like pitbulls - since I got over my initial fear & loathing of them. If someone is walking one near by I always ask if it is alright to pet them.
I also do this for other breeds of dog. Their owners may not realize how much socialization a puppy needs. On my watch, they get it. .
I've bred and shown dogs, and worked for a dog handler so I'm a pretty good judge of canine body language. I don't force my attentions on any pup/dog that is hanging back, and looking fearful,etc.
I do sweet talk them and sometimes they get bold enough to come over and be petted. They need to know strangers aren't going to hurt them.
