I liked the early ones, but of late it is overproduced, sets are too busy and tangled and noisy. That muddies the story and dialog and makes it less interesting, harder to follow.

Maybe it is just that it is now designed for home theaters, big screen hi-def TV's with surround sound, and doesn't translate well into small screens.

I loved Star Trek, love Star Wars, etc. but never liked Dr. Who. Even in the beginning. I had a close friend that hated science fiction but LOVED Dr. Who. I just never could get into it. So I dont' even think of it as science fiction at all, though technically it is. Just... meh.
