in this random rambling thread we post random pictures

how do you tell if it is safe to eat then? By smell?

I take any old eggs that float, and plant them in my garden. If I am potting new plants i put one old egg on the bottom of the planter. as it breaks down it fertilizes the plants. sometimes an old egg breaks and it looks and smells fine, so I always wondered about that.
I use the smell test a lot! I always smell my food.... lol.... funny habit.. I think our noses talents go largely underused! Nice idea about the old eggs!

I agree 100% ~ we also raise honey bees and I look at dandelions & clovers as wildflowers that feed my bees.
This is one of the reasons I don't use sprays, even in my orchard. I live down the road form a honey bee farm, and every spring my orchard and herb flowers are covered in bees. They really love my cherry trees.
They are calm creatures and I frequently, gently, brush them away when tending my plants. I have yet to be stung. I would rather have all those happy bees than a poisoned garden.

i'm sure we have all done this.
