Melabella, do you have a pinterest feed we can follow, with all these great photos?

Oh goodness! I do this! I use fallen logs to line my gardens. When they start to rot I hollow them out with a hoof knife, or small shovel, and then plant small herbs, annuals, or even seeds that i want to start in them. The wood protects the seeds from a late cold snap and as the plants grow the log continues to decompose and feed the plants.
