Gene Roddenberry made it a point to talk to scientists to make sure he had the science right then the viewers of his show grew up an took that science an made the things that they saw an wanted from his show.


Admit it, I am not the only one that has flipped open a flip phone an said "beam me up Scotty".....

You know, with the kind of house upkeep issues I've had this year I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to walk in from work one afternoon and see that. Would be par for the course in 2013. Especially with all this rain in NC. Thanks for the premonition.

Yea, I think the flip phone hit big around Y2K. At least the ones in the picture. The ones that looked like Kerk's communicator were a few years before that.
