That never occurred to me. I used to do the same thing. Now we are no longer supposed to recycle them in our county, but toss them into the trash. It is a wonder more fires have not been started.
Thank you for this. I plan on making sure all of them are taped from this moment forward.

I dont think it happened like he thinks.

Those batteries get hot but dont burn on there own. I have tried too... Something very heat sensitive had to be there like maybe char-cloth or something electro-reactive like steel wool.

Steel wool an a 9 volt battery together makes fire in seconds.

That was well done and very interesting. My son is forwarding it to his AP history teacher as I write. I enjoy a well presented history lesson like that. It is like a big boys' BB gun.
neat.
This is my go to video when someone tried to debate me in the second amendment an starts talking about how more than one shot per minute never crossing the minds of people back then. I want one by the way...

3Goodeggs loved that video, I just love books. I love the feel of them. No kindle for me. They need exercise after sitting on shelves all day long.

Rebel, I watched your gun video in it's entirety . I have to admit I had absolutely NO interest in guns/ history until I saw that. I'm amazed at how clever and resourceful people were in 'the day!"

Glad ya got something out of it. The IQ of people hundreds of years ago was as high as it is for people today but we have all these distractions that keep us busy. They did not, they could use all of their minds time on issue that actually effected their lives. Remember Sun Tzu wrote "The Art of War" around the end of the sixth century BC an it is still the top book in the field. We have learned a lot but have forgotten just as much.
