I'm not entirely sure what ammo I was shooting. Something like that though. Lol. My shoulder's fine, surprisingly. No bruising yet!

High brass on the left an low brass on the right. More brass = more gun powder = more kick....

My first time shooting a 12 was when I was very small. I was handed a double loaded with high brass an told to fire both barrels at the same time. Knocked me down. Not cool.

In contrast, someone 70 pounds can shoot a double, one barrel at a time all day long when loaded with low brass.

Getting ready to teach the girls to shoot now. (8 an 10 Year old) I fully expect both to be able to work their way up to low brass 12 by the first day.

Just ran across these old photos online. I though they were long sense lost.

The one at night with me holding a kid, that one is priceless an I didnt think i would ever see it again... Sometimes I just love the memory of the internet.
I like the one in the fire coat. Your old avatar. You'll always be that guy, no mater what you grow on your face.

Thanks. I myself think I look better now than I ever did back in my 20s. This past month or so I have shaved, got new teeth an have started getting back in shape. My hair is now pretty gray an I know I will never be in the shape I was back then but I still think I look better now. I do miss being that guy doing that job though.

Well most days I do anyway. Today is not one of those days. Today is a day I wish I could forget ever doing that job an the memories it gave me. Today I woke up to the words "Child ran over by school bus, possible 10-109-D" coming across my fire radio. A code I wish I never knew the meaning of an did not have memories kid call I have ran that go with it.

I often wonder how EMT, doctors first call responders can do their job and keep doing it. I suppose you have to compartmentalize it.. but still. Sometimes those doors creak open and things flood out.
I hope the day gets better for you. Think about how many lives you have helped and how many people you have educated so that awful things may have been averted.
