With modern air travel, Italy isn't that far from the U.S. either.
However, it's still pretty far from Australia.

What is the personality type of a Gordon setter? I have always loved them, but I have not ever known one. Are they smart? Good with kids?

Not that it matters. I take the dogs that God sends us. (Goofballs, the lot of them.)

They are very sweet, hers love everyone. They are high energy outside, but couch potatoes inside. They are the largest of the 3 setters ~ the others are Irish & English and are from Scotland.
Our grandfather raised and did field trials with Gordon Setters back in the 1920's through 1958 when he passed away
